About the Event

CLUB MINIJUPE RETURNS TO LONDON THIS AUTUMN TO FONTAINE'S BAMBOO LOUNGE. LONDON’S PREMIERE FRENCH POP 60’S NIGHT RETURNS THE 22ND OF NOVEMBER WITH A STELLAR AND FAMILIAR DJ LINE UP AND A FILM SCREENING OF THE 1967 BRILLIANT CULT FASHION FILM ANNA.

Prior to the party, we are so excited to report that we’ll be screening the brilliant ANNA with subtitles. Anna is a wacky and visually captivating French musical-comedy film directed by Pierre Koralnik and starring Anna Karina, Jean-Claude Brialy, Marianne Faithfull and Serge Gainsbourg (who of course did the soundtrack). If you were at our first party in 2016, you'll remember that it was screened in the background, but this time we'll be screening with subtitles to be viewed in all its fabulous glory!

Anna was the first colour film made for French TV, released in 1967. It is a brilliant/colourful and wild romp set throughout Paris and is a must see for every Anna Karina and Gainsbourg fan!

MODCULTURE describes it as ‘ a bizarre pop art/comedy/musical filled with bright vibrant colors, strange, hallucinatory scenes and some of the best songs Serge ever wrote.'

After the screening we’ll continue the excitement with DJ sets by our original London MINIJUPE DJ crew! We are so excited to have joining us on the decks again....
